Ultrasound Diagnostics

Ultrasound is a device used to scan internal organs, through waves emitted from a probe that bounce off obstacles and return the image of the organ that is being observed. This method helps examine most organs in the human body: thyroid gland, breasts, heart, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, urinary bladder, kidneys, and so on. Scanning is painless and lasts from 10 to 30 minutes.

What do we provide?

We conduct the following ultrasound examinations:

  • Ultrasound of the brain of new-borns
  • Ultrasound of the hips
  • Ultrasound of the abdomen
  • Ultrasound of the urinary tract
  • Ultrasound of the small pelvis
  • Ultrasound of the thyroid gland
  • Doppler scan of blood vessels of the neck
  • Doppler scan of blood vessels of the extremities
  • Ultrasound of subcutaneous structures
  • Ultrasound of salivary glands
  • Ultrasound of breasts and the armpit region

Ultrasound scans are conducted on the proposal of a pediatrician or subspecialist. However, you can schedule an appointment even if you have a referral letter from a pediatrician from another institution.

When is an ultrasound scan performed?

An ultrasound scan is performed on a pediatrician or subspecialist's suggestion, whether it is a regular check-up conducted with the aim of excluding suspicion of innate hip dysplasia or a diagnosis of a disease or disorder of an organ (inflammation of the intestine, problems with the thyroid gland, liver, spleen, urinary tract etc.).
