When to see a pulmonologist

Coughing can be harmless, but it can also disrupt the sleep and functioning of a child, and sometimes the whole family.

A cough that lasts longer than 10 days is a reason to visit a doctor, especially if it is accompanied by "hissing" in the chest, if the child coughs up mucus that contains traces of blood or is accompanied by an unpleasant odor.
