Allergy Tests

Allergies are hypersensitive reactions of the immune system to the environment.

They can be caused by airborne allergens (inhalation), such as pollen, ambrosia and animal hair, but allergies to certain food or ingredients are also common (ingestion). The susceptiveness to allergies can be inherited.

What do we provide?

In our clinic we perform skin allergy tests.

Skin allergy tests are done by applying allergen samples to the skin. A solution of histamine and saline is used as control. The skin reacts to allergens by creating a red papule, which is measured to determine if there is excessive sensitivity. Applying allergens to the skin does not lead to their penetration into the blood, which means that this method is completely harmless. The only undesirable effect is the itching of the skin where allergens were applied.

When are allergy tests performed?

Allergy tests are performed on allergist's suggestion after the examination. However, in our clinic, your child can get tested on your own initiative.
