Psychology

A children's psychologist is a specialist who deals with mental, emotional and social health and development of a child. Psychologists examine the physical, psychological and social functioning of children and adolescents and determine the connection between psychological and physical aspects that affect their well-being.

What do we provide?

In addition to a basic examination of psychologists, we also provide team assessment in cooperation with other specialists.

In our clinic, psychologists help children through individual therapy, work with children who have experienced trauma, evaluate intelligence, provide ongoing psychological support to children who are being treated for a disease, consult with other subspecialists about diseases connected to psychology, such as eating disorders and seizures unrelated to epilepsy.

When to see a psychologist?

Childhood and adolescence are very turbulent periods on the road to maturity. This is when parents often compare the behaviour of their children with their peers, monitor whether it is difficult for them to make new friendships, how they do in school, etc. In this regard, even though your child may not have a specific problem, you can seek advice from a child psychologist and solve any dilemmas.

It is recommended that you bring your child to a psychologist if you notice the following signs:

  • If the baby does not look at the mother during breast-feeding
  • The development and behaviour of a child lags behind peers
  • The child does not react to being separated from parents at a kindergarten or for longer periods of time
  • If the child is wearing diapers after 4 years
  • Inflicts self-harm (pulls hair, hits their head against the wall, bites their lips, etc.)
  • If you have problems in upbringing your child (child will not listen to you, does not accept authority, etc.)
